The latest product from Hogue is the Polymer 15-Degree Vertical Grip, designed to give owners of the AR-15 platform an added advantage in tactical shooting.

"When designing this product, ergonomics was the number one priority. It simply had to feel right. Of course, aesthetics was also a main concern. It had to look good too," said grip designer and Hogue co-owner Jim Bruhns. "In terms of performance, this grip is ideal for any AR-15/M16 user. It's for military, for custom builders, for anyone, really! It simply feels comfortable for guys who just want to shoot."

A standard AR grip features a 30-degree grip angle and, according to the company, is incompatible with tactics used in close-quarter combat. The stacking formation used by the military at close range forces a to be square with a shooter's chest and pushes the elbows tight into the body. This, combined with the standard grip angle on an AR, forces a shooter's hand into a sharper angle.

Hogue designed this new grip to be more compatible with modern-day firearm controls and tactics, allowing hands to meet the grip in a more natural position, making a more comfortable setup for shooters.

The 15-Degree Vertical Grip is made from durable polymer that features a hollow center to provide a lightweight addition to any rifle platform. The grip weighs in at just 1.5 ounces, making it one of the lightest options on the market. Other features include Hogue's cobblestone texture, designed to provide shooters with a non-slip stippling pattern that still provides a level of comfort.

The grip also features a recessed area behind the trigger that allows for a smoother transition to the trigger for a shooter's index finger. The grip also incorporates a clearance in the top of the product that allows for the use of an upper-receiver tensioning screw.

The Hogue Polymer 15-Degree Vertical Grip fits any rifle that uses standard AR-15/M16 grips and are available in black, OD green and flat dark earth. The suggested retail price is $19.95.
