One of the great benefits of the AR platform is the ease with which products can be swapped out with upgrades. The new Mission First Tactical Enhanced Mag Release is an easy upgrade for any mil-spec AR-15 or AR-10 with a standard magazine release.

One of the potential problems with the mil-spec magazine release on an AR-15 is its small surface area and its distance from the trigger guard. For most people, it isn't an issue, but for shooters with smaller hands, reaching up for the magazine release can be problematic. Plus, in the heat of a defensive or a combat situation, a larger surface area is easier to engage and gives shooters an added advantage under stress.

The Enhanced Mag Release from MFT is made from aircraft-grade aluminum and features a two-piece construction. The body of the mag release is inserted into the cutout in the receiver and threads onto the magazine catch. After the mag release body is installed, users can attach the extended tab using two small 4-40 hex-head screws using a 3/32 hex-head driver. No gunsmithing or extra fitting is required.

The extended mag release is compatible with mil-spec AR-15 and AR-10 receivers. The suggested retail price on the new mag release is $24.99.
