Gatco Sharpeners, a brand under Bear & Sons Cutlery, announced the release of its Scepter 2.0, a multi-function tool that works as a knife sharpener and a tool to help complete vital survival tasks.

The Scepter aids survivalists in keeping survival knives in the field sharp and functional and also works as a fire starter. The body of the Scepter is CNC machined from 6061-T6 aluminum, which surrounds a magnesium fire rod that measures 1.75 inches in length. The rod is covered with a tapered diamond sharpener in order to save space.

The sharpener measures 3.3 inches in length and features a tapered and grooved rod that is designed to sharpen serrated edges, pointed blades and can be used on small objects like fish hooks. The unit also features a tungsten-carbide sharpener that will work to keep plain-edged knives sharp.

Each element of the Scepter is separated by a threaded component that includes an O-ring to preserve the interior from the weather. The body also features a lanyard cord in order to provide extra security. The total length of the Scepter is 6 inches, with a diameter of .57 inches. The total weight is 2.3 ounces.

The suggested retail price on the Gatco Scepter 2.0 is $39.99.
