Blackhawk introduced its Omnivore holster, which features one of the most versatile holster designs on the market today with the capability to accommodate more than 150 different handguns.

The Omnivore Multi-Fit Holster uses a proprietary Rail Attachment Device that locks onto any Picatinny-rail-equipped handgun. The device is used to secure the firearm inside of the holster. Since the only element needed to use the holster is an accessory rail, the Omnivore will work with nearly any rail-equipped semi-automatic pistol. For light-bearing pistols, Blackhawk has models of the Omnivore that clamp onto specific designs of firearm-mounted lights.

The holster features a Level 2 retention device that is activated through a thumb release found at the top of the holster. The Omnivore includes accessories to adjust the thumb release to three different positions, allowing users to adjust the retention to fit their personal preferences.

The unique design of the Omnivore adds several other benefits over traditional close-fit holsters. Since there is extra space in the interior of the holster to accommodate a wide variety of firearms, it does not contact the frame of a holstered pistol, which prevents wear on the firearm's finish. The extra space and an open-bottom design also prevents debris from getting trapped around the gun, reducing the chances of a malfunction.

The extra space inside the holster also allows users to add custom touches to their firearms without worrying about needing a new holster to accommodate the new accessories. Oversized magazine releases and slide stops can be added in, worry-free. Blackhawk also claims that the oversized design allows for easier reholstering.

The Omnivore comes with multiple Rail Attachment Devices to allow users to have several firearms ready for immediate use with the holster. The Blackhawk Omnivore retails at a suggested price of $59.95.
