There are many schools of thought on firearm finishes. Some want pristine, fresh-from-the-gun-store finishes without blemish or scratch. Others feel if the firearm doesn't have a few marks on it, it's not being properly utilized. One thing's for certain: whether you like your firearm perfect or with a little wear, allowing bare metal to contact the elements is a recipe for disaster.

DuraCoat just made refinishing your firearm a lot easier with the company's new DuraBlue aerosol finish. The "can-within-a-can" design puts the finish and a hardener together, meaning no mixing is needed. The proprietary finish literally sprays on from a can, meaning you can produce a quality, durable finish in the comfort of your own home (well, backyard—as with any aerosol, proper ventilation is important).

The resulting finish will protect your firearm against UV rays, rust, corrosion and other environmental damage, all while providing an even, attractive finish. Each can provides enough finish and hardener for two to four firearms, and is usable for 12 to 24 hours once activated. DuraCoat recommends 3 to 10 coats, with 10 minutes between spraying, and light use for the three- to four-week curing time.
