Weatherby is expanding the company's "Threat Response" line with two new extended-capacity variants. The SA-459 is a semi-automatic shotgun available only in black, while the PA-459 is a pump-action version available in a variety of finishes. SA-459TR_8shotThe SA-459 represents an impressive value: MSRP on this line starts at $849, which yields a semi-automatic shotgun with pistol grip, extended magazine, ghost-ring sights, screw-in chokes, a 3-inch chamber and a fiber-optic front sight. The bolt handle is oversize for ease of operation, and the fore-end features accessory rail and ribbed surface for enhanced purchase.

The PA-459 is similarly impressive: for an MSRP of $599 to start, the pump shotgun offers a chrome-lined barrel, screw-in cylinder choke tube and the same pistol grip and accessory rail as the semi-auto version. PA-459TR_8shotThe fore-end on the PA-459 extends back to accommodate shooters with shorter reach, and it is relief-cut to allow for proper ejection even with the extended fore-end.Both variants accept up to 3-inch shells and have a capacity of 7+1.
