Sometimes, even a tried-and-true design like the M1911 can surprise you.

Kimber's Warrior SOC (TFS) is based on the customized handguns built for U.S. Marines assigned to Central Command. The 1911 contains such upgrades as an accessory rail (in this case adorned with a Crimson Trace Railmaster laser), front serrations, Tactical Wedge Tritium night sights and G-10 grips.

In addition to this impressive list of upgrades, the Warrior SOC (TFS) also includes a 5 inch, threaded barrel for addition of a sound suppressor if desired. A "service melt" rounds out the edges for concealed carry, and a match-grade adjustable trigger makes precision work simple.

It's not everyday that a 1911 gives me a case of the wants, but boy, the Kimber Warrior SOC (TFS) is one serious fighting pistol.

MSRP: $1,738.
