SIG Sauer surprised the firearm industry with the announcement of the company's Electro-Optics line. The manufacturer known for pistols and rifles had already branched into sound suppressors and ammunition, and now the company was taking aim (pun intended) at optics.

In short order, the Electro-Optic line came about, with a variety of magnified optics and red-dot sights. Riflescopes, both for hunting and competition purposes, as well as reflex sights and micro-red-dot sights for carbines and handguns were developed.

I had a chance to run one of the MCX carbines with an attached Romeo micro-red-dot sight, and it's clear that the engineers at SIG have done their homework. It's bright, crisp, and doesn't take up a lot of real estate on the top rail.
