Those of you who have a copy of the January 2015 issue of Shooting Illustrated are already aware, but in case you missed it, we are thrilled to welcome Martin K.A. Morgan to the Shooting Illustrated family. Morgan writes "The Classics," our column dealing with historic firearms. His first column debuted in the January issue and covered the Mousqueton A.M.D., a Ruger Mini-14 produced under contract for the French Interior Ministry and used by that country's Gendarmerie Nationale as well as prison guards.

Morgan is an author/historian who specializes in American and military history. He holds a BA in history from the University of Alabama (1991), an MA in history from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (1996) and is currently a history doctoral candidate at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MI. He is the author of "Down To Earth: The 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment in Normandy" and "The Americans on D-Day: A Photographic History of the Normandy Invasion." Morgan contributes frequently to television programs, and he leads battlefield tours around the world.

Please join us in welcoming Morgan to Shooting Illustrated and be sure to read his column every month as he covers famous, infamous and unique firearms from around the world.
