Few shooters understand the premise behind DRT ammunition. Even fewer think the concept has merit. DRT utilizes a compressed powdered metal core with a thin jacket. After impact, the front section of the core, which is not compressed as much as the rear section, essentially uncompresses. As unique and different as this bullet is, it will penetrate just as deep as and even deeper than many conventional .380 ACP loads—due to the harder compressed rear core—and the wound cavity will be just as large, too.
