LeHigh Defense's Maximum Expanding load utilizes an all-copper bullet that opens with four petals. These petals open 90 degrees to the bullet, creating a very wide frontal diameter. But, since tissue can pass between the petals, this wide frontal diameter allows moderate penetration without excessive bullet weight and fierce recoil, even though velocities are high. It's an ingenious design that creates wide wound cavities.
