The Federal Hydra-Shok bullet is one of the most trusted defensive handgun bullets. Not all that long ago, it was the bullet of choice for many law enforcement agencies. To an extent, it is the Nosler Partition of defensive handgun bullets. Why? It expands wide and penetrates deep. Federal's 165-grain .40 S&W load is a perfect example of Hydra-Shok performance.
