Heckler & Koch added the brand-new VP9SK pistol to its popular VP pistol line, offering concealed-carry holders a short-frame option based on the full-size VP9.

The short-frame VP9 incorporates an adjustable grip that features interchangeable backstraps and grip panels, allowing users to adjust the grip according to their hand sizes. Other benefits of the grip include a number of ergonomic finger grooves that ensure shooters obtain the most comfortable grip possible on the gun.

The VP9SK also uses H&K's precision-strike trigger, providing owners with a short take-up and reset, along with a clean single-action break. The company describes its trigger as one of the best striker-fired triggers available in the market.

The new pistol also features ambidextrous controls, incorporating slide stops on both sides of the gun and a paddle magazine release useful for both left- and right-handed owners. Another interesting feature of the gun is the charging supports located on the rear of the slide, giving users more leverage when charging the slide.

The gun uses a mil-spec Picatinny rail that allows owners to add lights, lasers and other accessories, while a flat recoil spring works to minimize recoil and improve pistol control. The H&K VP9SK works with a number of available VP magazines, and the company promises a later introduction of 13- and 15-round magazines for improved grip and extended capacity. The new VP9SK will sell for a suggested retail price of $719.
