Using Your Can

• Before mounting a suppressor, visually check to ensure its bore is unobstructed and no baffles are damaged and blocking the bullet path.

• Always attach and detach a suppressor with the firearm unloaded/cleared and on "safe."

• Never attempt to grab a recently fired suppressor with your bare hands. Use a leather glove or purpose-built insulator.

• Check and double check to ensure your suppressor is securely attached to the firearm before firing. A "twist-and-pull" check is useful to be sure it is not about to become an inert rifle grenade.

• A light coating of oil on the mounting adapter will help make removal of a QD suppressor easier once carbon builds up after firing.

• Applying anti-seize compound to barrel threads will aid removal and cleaning of a thread-on suppressor.

• Remove suppressors during normal maintenance to clean underneath and help prevent them from rusting to the mounting adapter.

• Just like a barrel, the more you superheat a suppressor, the faster it will wear out. Cherry red in daylight is not a desired look.

• If you intend to shoot with and without the suppressor mounted, make note of zero shift and repeatability from one configuration to the other.

• Verify changes in trajectory based on velocity differences between suppressed and unsuppressed fire.

• Always wear wraparound eye protection and proper ear protection when shooting suppressed.

• For all aspects of your suppressor's use and care, follow the manufacturer's instructions to the letter.
