In 2017, Smith & Wesson made big news with the launch of the company's M2.0 series of pistols, giving the popular M&P lineup a much-needed makeover. Late in the year, the company unveiled the Compact model of its full-size M&P M2.0, giving handgun aficionados an easily carried option with all of the great features of the M&P duty-size handgun.

Some of the changes on the new M&P M2.0 Compact are evident from an external view, particularly the enhanced grip texuring designed to give users an enhanced grip that allows for improved grip control. The gun also features an improved trigger pull, as well as a shortened profile that makes it easier for daily carry.
