Primary Arms Government partnered with the Houston Police Department’s (HPD) Blue Santa Program this month to collect donated gifts from around the city and distribute them to less-fortunate children and teens in the Houston area. The items included everything from holiday toys and school supplies to necessities like soap, shaving kits and other essential toiletries.

“The HPD Blue Santa Program serves as many as 10,000 children a year in the Houston area and has become a massive labor of love,” said Özge Cumberland, Primary Arms senior vice president of sales, marketing and business development. “The purpose is to bring smiles and joy to a countless number of children and their families in this holiest time of the year. We are proud and honored to support Houston’s men and women in blue in achieving this tremendous annual event.”

This is the second time Primary Arms Government has worked with the program, The company has doubled its efforts this year, helping provide more new toys and supplies for the community.

CCI/Speer team members Kendra Mooers, Michelle Garrison and Melissa Garret decorated a Christmas tree for the Tri-State Hospitals Festival of Trees for its 37th Annual Gala in Lewiston, ID. After judging the festive trees are auctioned at the event and the funds raised benefit the health-care facility in Clarkston, WA.

Named “12 Days of Christmas—Idaho Style” the tree featured custom carved and hand-painted ornaments. Aside from Mooers, Garrison and Garret, the crew had Shirley Hall (Kendra’s Aunt) and Mick Woodland (Michelle’s father) get involved with creating ornaments. The tree was given the People’s Choice award at the event.

“We believe getting involved with this annual event is a great way to give back to our community,” Mooers said. “We are so grateful for the support CCI/Speer provides.”

MIM Myths

Metal-injection molding (MIM) creates complex, durable and reliable metal parts in things we use daily. Its ability to churn out high volumes at reduced cost endeared it to the firearm industry decades ago. Despite that fact, gun companies we asked about the process were tight lipped.
