Stoeger STR 9SC 9 mm Optic Ready

Stoeger introduced the next extension of the company's STR-9 series of semi-automatic pistols: the new STR-9SC Sub-Compact and STR-9SC Sub-Compact Optic-Ready models.

Based on the original STR-9 compact 9 mm introduced in 2019, the STR-9SC Sub-Compact series meets the needs of today's concealed carrier. These new handguns fit the criteria of a deep-concealment defensive pistol with features similar to a larger handgun, yet at a price as affordable as it is easy to carry.

Featuring an ergonomic polymer frame and striker-fired semi-automatic action, the STR-9SC Sub-Compact and STR-9SC Sub-Compact Optic-Ready deliver performance benchmarks that exceed their low price.

The frame is constructed from fiberglass-reinforced polymer with steel inserts for a blend of light weight and strength, while the slide's Nitride finish minimizes wear during IWB or OWB carry and resists rust and corrosion for enhanced durability. Aggressive front and rear slide serrations ensure these small-profile defensive pistols can be easily manipulated for charging and clearing.

Stoeger offers three models in the STR-9SC Sub-Compact lineup: standard STR-9SC Sub-Compact, STR-9SC Sub-Compact with Tritium night sights and STR-9SC Sub-Compact Optic- Ready. All come with a medium backstrap, left- or right-side position magazine release lever, trigger safety, integrated accessory rail, front post/square notch rear sight configuration and a 10-round magazine for 10+1 capacity.

For the growing number of shooters who desire a highly concealable pistol with a micro red-dot sight (MRDS), the STR-9SC Sub-Compact Optic-Ready is an ideal option. This model features a factory-milled optic cut in the slide and four mounting plates with patterns to accommodate the most common MRDS optics on the market today. A cover plate is also included for open sight use.

The STR-9SC Sub-Compact series pistols measure 6.54 inches in overall length and feature a 3.54-inch, blued stainless-steel barrel. The unloaded weight is an easy-to-carry 22.4 ounces.

  • STR-9SC Sub-Compact MSRP: $329
  • STR-9SC Sub-Compact with Tritium night sights MSRP: $399
  • STR-9SC Sub-Compact Optic-Ready MSRP: $399
