Dan Wesson, known for its line of well-made 1911 handguns, launched its new DW ECP, which packs that quality into a compact 1911 designed for everyday concealed carry. The DW ECP (short for Enhanced Compact Pistol) takes the match-grade bull barrel from the Dan Wesson 1911 Officer-size ECO and installs it into the slightly-larger, easy-to-carry ECP platform, giving you maximum accuracy in a minimal package.

Available in both 9mm and .45 ACP, the DW ECP features a compact, stainless-steel slide riding on a forged aluminum frame, bringing the weight down to just 29 ounces. The grip frame on the ECP is full-sized, providing a very stable platform for the shooter.

The slide on the DW ECP has a top rib knocks down glare for a better view of the sights and the large U-notch on the rear sight allows a shooter to quickly line up the rear notch with the pistol's brass-beaded front sight. The bull barrel itself is flush-cut to make for easier disassembly and has a 30-degree crown.

The DW ECP features a flat-wire recoil spring rated for 15,000 rounds. The tapered G10 grips on the DW ECP have a slim, tapered profile giving shooters with smaller hands an easier reach to the trigger while providing superior control when shooting. A bobtailed frame and undercut trigger guard adds to the pistol's ergonomics and utility.
