Beretta is launching a brand-new family of 90 series pistols, the 92X line, created to extend the proven Beretta 90 Series to meet the needs of today’s gun owners.

The experience of 50 years of refinement and testing of Beretta 90 Series under the most rigorous conditions has gone into the design of the 92X Series. In addition to this, 30 years of service as the official sidearm of the U.S. Military, as well as the numerous variants of the 90 Series, which were made for various military, law enforcement and civilian markets have been distilled down in order to add refinement to this new pistol.

“Beretta USA is proud to introduce the new 92X family. This new line of pistols add to the long and rich heritage of the 90 Series line. The new 92x family is a true combat-proven, modern classic,” Erik Stern, tactical and pro shop product manager.

The 92X series combines advanced ergonomics, full backwards compatibility with railed 90 Series accessories, along with the proven reliability and accuracy of the 90 Series. Uncompromising and built for performance, the new 92X family is equally suitable for either practical pistol matches or defensive use.

Available fin Full Size, Centurion (mid-size), and Compact configurations, the new 92X family of pistols have a standard Vertec profile frame that include new wraparound grips, and for the first time in a 90 Series, use standard dovetailed front sights on all three pistol sizes.

Combined with combat sights, enhanced fire control and an extended magazine release, these features result in an uncompromising pistol that aims for top performance.

The 92X Series are loaded with all the best components of other 90 Series pistols, such as a Vertec steel frame, a heavier Brigadier-profile slide, a skeletonized hammer and the new Extreme-S trigger mechanism, which decreases trigger reset by up to 40 percent.

The 92X Full Size model is currently available with an MSRP of $899, and the 92X Performance model is scheduled to roll out in October with an MSRP of $1,399. The 92X Compact and Centurion models will be available in late summer/early fall 2019 and have an MSRP of $899.

MIM Myths

Metal-injection molding (MIM) creates complex, durable and reliable metal parts in things we use daily. Its ability to churn out high volumes at reduced cost endeared it to the firearm industry decades ago. Despite that fact, gun companies we asked about the process were tight lipped.
