The Maryville, TN, police department awarded Smith & Wesson a contract in early October to transition the department to Smith & Wesson's products. The local agency serves Smith & Wesson’s new home in the heart of East Tennessee.

“As we welcome Smith & Wesson to our community, we are proud to transition our department to their state-of-the-art firearms,” said Tony Jay Crisp, Chief of Police, Maryville Police Department. “This partnership not only enhances the safety and preparedness of our officers but also strengthens our connection to a company that shares our commitment to excellence and public safety. By equipping our force with the best tools available, we ensure we are prepared to meet the challenges of modern law enforcement while supporting local industry.”

This contract marks an important partnership between Smith & Wesson and the community, highlighting the company’s dedication to supporting local law enforcement. The Maryville Police Department has chosen to transition to the M&P9 M2.0 and Shield Plus series for its primary duty and backup pistols, ensuring its officers are equipped with reliable technology they can trust. In addition, the agency will be integrating the M&P15T SBR for its primary patrol rifles, enhancing the ability to serve and protect the community with confidence.

“Smith & Wesson is honored to be the new duty sidearm and patrol rifle of choice for the Maryville Police Department,” said Mark Smith, president and CEO of Smith & Wesson. “We eagerly anticipate years and decades of partnership with the agency that safeguards our community and new headquarters, just as we’ve cherished our longstanding relationship with the Springfield (MA) Police Department since the 19th century. Together, we aspire to nurture a safer environment for all community members and build a legacy of trust and excellence in law enforcement.”

For more than a century, Smith & Wesson firearms have been a trusted platform for law enforcement and military agencies around the globe, reflecting the company’s commitment to quality, performance, and durability. M&P handguns and long guns are designed to meet the rigorous demands faced by military and law enforcement professionals every day. These firearms undergo comprehensive testing and quality assurance processes to ensure they perform reliably in the field, making them a preferred choice for those who serve and protect.
