Not content with setting the AR-15 world on fire with quality, affordable hardware and magazines, the folks at Magpul decided that the AK-47 was ripe for a Magpul Makeover as well. A couple years ago it released the PMag30, bringing the PMag that revolutionized how AR-15-style rifles were fed to the Ak-47-pattern.

Not content to let a good design be, Magpul realized it could be better. AK-47-pattern rifles are known for robust operation and near-indestructibility, and the magazines that feed these rifles are generally equally hardy. While the first generation of PMags for the AK were strong and sturdy, Magpul saw an opportunity to make a few improvements and rolled out the PMag30 Gen M3 this year.

With metal reinforcement at the two areas where the magazine meets the magazine well, the PMag30 Gen M3 counts for three U.S. compliance parts under 922(r) statutes. The same polymer body, follower and floorplate are carried over from the initial design, and it maintains the same ergonomics and curvature for which the AK magazine is known.
