Leupold & Stevens, Inc. introduced the new VX-6HD, designed to deliver improved performance to hunters and shooters.

Featuring Leupold’s Twilight Max Light Management System, the VX-6HD delivers high-definition optical performance with rugged reliability.

“The VX-6 is an incredible riflescope, but we never stop looking for ways to improve,” said Tim Lesser, vice president of product development for Leupold & Stevens, Inc. “We’re relentless in our quest for performance, and the new VX-6HD has reset the standard for premium optics.”

All models of the VX-6HD offer illumination, and include a new electronic reticle-leveling feature. When the scope is canted by more than a single degree, the reticle will flash, alerting the shooter that it is not level. Once squared up, the reticle stops flashing, and the user knows their scope is level and a precise shot can be made.

Leupold has designed a new hydrophobic lens coating called Guard-iON, which repels water, dirt and fingerprints, leaving the glass clear in harsh environments.

A new locking Custom Dial System elevation adjustment, the CDS-ZL2, provides two complete revolutions, allowing hunters and shooters to extend their accuracy. These custom dials can also be calibrated to the specific ballistics of a particular rifle and load. A turn indicator eliminates confusion and ensures the marksman knows precisely where the scope adjustment sits. In addition, Leupold is also adding ZeroLock adjustments for the windage dial.

Included with the VX-6HD are Alumina Flip-Back Lens Covers and a removable throw lever that clamps onto the power selector ring allowing for fast, eyes-free adjustment.

The VX-6HD will be available in magnification ranges of 1-6x24mm, 2-12x42mm, 3-18x44mm, 3-18x50mm and 4-24x52mm. The 6:1 erector system is designed to deliver an improved field-of-view at lower settings, while still capable of extreme high magnification.

A wide variety of illuminated reticles are available:

  • Illuminated CM-R2
  • FireDot Circle
  • FireDot-G BDC
  • FireDot Bullet-Drop
  • Impact-23 MOA
  • Impact-29 MOA
  • Impact-45 MOA
  • Varmint Hunter

The Leupold VX-6HD riflescope will retail at prices starting at $1,299.99.
