Kimber is rolling out a new high-capacity 1911-style pistol, the 2K11. Available in both standard and target configurations, the 2K11 is chambered in 9mm as well as .45 ACP. The standard variant includes three magazines and a C&H optic-mounting plate designed for Trijicon RMR-footprint sights. For those with different sighting preferences, three other optic-mounting plates can be purchased separately. The target models, which also come with three magazines and the C&H optic mounting plate, feature a ported slide and an adjustable rear target sight. Additionally, these models include an exclusive Stan Chen Customs competition magazine well from Kimber.

Crafted with input from discerning consumers, the 2K11 boasts an external extractor that enhances reliability and durability, along with a type III hard anodized aluminum grip module. The refined internal geometry improves the feeding performance of the high-capacity magazines, while the Kimber signature GT Trigger provides a consistent break at 3.5 pounds, delivering a sharp and crisp performance not usually found in production double-stack 1911 pistols. Adding to that is a patent-pending tool-less guide rod for easy disassembly and maintenance and Kimber's decades of experience with the 1911 platform.

Everett Deger, director of marketing and communications stated: “We were determined to produce the very best high capacity 1911 and deliver a superior value. The 2K11 has several unique features that come standard that you have to have customized in the aftermarket to achieve what you get out of the box with Kimber.”

Kimber 2K11 Features:

  • Custom front and rear slide serrations, with lightening cuts on Target model.
  • TAG Precision FiberLok 2 front sight
  • Picatinny rail on dust cover
  • Sub-frame made from SST steel with DLC coating
