XS Sights MOS Sights

Texas-based XS Sights has released a selection of new Glock MOS-compatible, optics-mounting plates for all Glock pistols that feature the standard MOS slide cut.

XS Sights is offering their new plates to fit the Trijicon RMR and Aimpoint ACRO optics footprints, two of the most popular and well-represented mounting standards on the market today. Intended for professional end users such as law enforcement officers or serious competitive shooters, XS Sights’ new plates are precision CNC machined from steel and finished with a durable black nitride coating to provide the end user with duty-grade reliability and protection from the elements. Additionally, XS Sights designed these plates to provide 30 percent more thread engagement for the pair of optics screws, which allows them to bite down to help secure the entire red-dot sight from the forces that are the result of a reciprocating handgun slide. Finally, XS Sights optics plates were also designed to be easy to install. XS offers these new plates with a standard retail price of $82.99 and currently fit the following factory Glock MOS models: G17, G19, G34, G45, G47 and G49.

As an added convenience to Glock owners, XS Sights is also bundling the new Glock MOS plates with taller, suppressor-height XS Sights Optics Ready Minimalist sights. With these taller optics-ready iron sights, XS Sights removes the guesswork needed to ensure that end-users have iron sights of the appropriate height that will clear most red-dot optics deck heights to ensure proper co-witness. Like the new Glock MOS mounting plates, XS Sights Minimalist OR sights are also precision CNC machined from steel and finished in black nitride. Front sights are available with or without tritium and the rear sight maintains a narrow profile to not interfere with the Glock MOS slide cut or mounted red-dot optic.

XS Sights Glock and MOS Plate Bundles are available in the following combinations:

  • ACRO plate with Tritium front sight, minimalist rear
  • ACRO plate with non-tritium front sight, minimalist rear
  • RMR plate with Tritium front sight, minimalist rear
  • RMR plate with non-tritium front sight, minimalist rear

MIM Myths

Metal-injection molding (MIM) creates complex, durable and reliable metal parts in things we use daily. Its ability to churn out high volumes at reduced cost endeared it to the firearm industry decades ago. Despite that fact, gun companies we asked about the process were tight lipped.
