Classic Italian gunmaker Tanfoglio launched a new tactical hammer-fired, traditional-double-action 9mm during SHOT Show last month: the new Tanfoglio Defiant Tactical Pro. The new Tanfoglio Defiant Tactical Pro is a full-size pistol with a threaded barrel built in a OD green Cerakoted (also available in black) steel frame that blends tactical and practical performance features. Like many of the guns it manufactures, the Defiant Tactical Pro is based on the accurate and reliable CZ-75 action. This specific model is outfitted with aluminum grip panels, an extended beavertail and a grip with a flared magazine well. Finger grooves are also machined into the grip for comfort and ergonomics. The Defiant Tactical Pro comes with competition style iron sights consisting of an adjustable rear sight with a fiber optic front sight, but its slide is also cut making it optics-ready (by removing the entire rear sight assembly and using optics mounting plates).
The piece de resistance on this new Tanfoglio is its tactical, threaded bull-barrel that’s turned from a Lothar Walther blank. The muzzle includes industry standard 1/2x28-tpi threads and Tanfoglio also sends each pistol with a stylized tactical muzzle thread protector cap.
