Consumers now have a new tactical light to consider adopting for their everyday-carry kit in the Streamlight PolyTac X flashlight. The novel illumination tool is loaded with features designed to enhance flexibility, ensuring that users will always have a ready source of light.

"With its battery versatility and powerful lumen rating, the new PolyTac X is among the brightest and most adaptable polymer tactical lights on the market today,” said Michael F. Dineen, Streamlight VP of sales and marketing. "It is ideal for everything from conducting searches in low light to lighting up an outdoor trail to repairing equipment. Even when a charging source is not available, you can use disposable batteries, ensuring that you will never run out of power in any situation.”

Built with a housing made from impact-resistant nylon polymer, the Streamlight PolyTac X flashlight is designed for durability. The housing surface features integrated texturing that allows for a secure grip in all weather conditions, and the design also ensures a lightweight, easy-to-carry product that measures only 5.46 inches long and weighs only 4.34 ounces. The light is IPX7-rated for waterproof operation at depths of 1 meter for up to 30 minutes and has been tested to withstand drops from up to 3 meters.

One of the added flexibility features on the PolyTac X is the use of its dual-fuel power system that allows owners to power the light from multiple battery sources. The light is compatible with the company's 18650 rechargeable battery or can be used with two CR123 batteries. An optional charger is available to recharge the 18650 battery through all AC/DC or USB power sources. The light ships with two CR123 batteries.

The dual-fuel system powers a single LED light in low, medium, high and strobe modes. The maximum output of the flashlight is 600 lumens (11,485 candela), producing a maximum beam distance of 205 meters. At its highest setting, battery life measures 2.75 hours with CR123 batteries or 3.5 hours with the rechargeable 18650 battery. The push-button tailcap operation uses Streamlight's innovative TEN-TAP programming, enabling owners to choose one of three built-in programs for operation.

The Streamlight PolyTac X flashlight is available in black, yellow and coyote colors and retails at a suggested MSRP of $75.
