Stoeger Industries has rolled out another variant of its flagship STR-9 series, the new STR-9 Combat X, a 9mm striker-fired polymer frame handgun based on the original STR-9 design.
The new Combat X comes finished in a smoked-bronze Cerakote finish and includes ambidextrous slide release controls and a threaded barrel. There is also an optics-ready slide from the factory. In addition to the optics cut, the STR-9 Combat X’s slide also has lightening cuts and very wide front and rear serrations to facilitate easier gun manipulations. The dust cover of the pistol has a Picatinny rail for accessories such as tactical lights or lasers. Finally, besides its main features, the Stoeger STR-9 Combat X also has a assortment of other features such as a fiber-optic front sight, threaded barrel and a micrometer-adjustable rear sight. Stoeger includes three different magazines with the STR-9 Combat X, a flush-fitting 17-round magazine and two 20-round mags with extended basepads. There are also interchangeable backstraps in small, medium and large sizes. The top of the grip has memory grooves molded in for the shooter’s thumbs and the back portion of the trigger guard has an aggressive undercut for added ergonomic benefits.
