Steiner Optics is releasing a new high performance compact and light weight hunting 4-16x44 riflescope called the 4S.

The new Steiner 4S riflescope is built around a 4:1 zoom ratio and a standard 30 mm wide maintube. This scope measures 10.9 inches in overall length while only weighing a tad over 18 ounces, or slightly more than a pound. As a 4-16X scope, it’s both relatively short and light compared to scopes with 5 and 6X zoom ranges. This lightweight and compact riflescope is designed around hunting applications carried out over rugged technical or vertical terrain. The 4S uses a second focal plane illuminated E3 reticle with eleven different brightness settings. The E3 is a simplified reticle suitable for hunting that does include some dots and bars for 5 or 10 mph wind holds underneath the central aiming point.

The Steiner Predator 4S is also designed to work in conjunction with thermal imaging attachments, which are becoming increasingly popular by the day with certain types of hunting or pest control. Being that the Steiner Predator 4S is designed as a hard use hunting scope, it’s filled with nitrogen making it both water proof and fog proof. The Predator 4S will work in a temperature spectrum of -13 to 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
