The included electronic hygrometer uses AAA batteries and measures temperature, humidity and recent temperature extremes in either Celsius or Fahrenheit units. The rechargeable dehumidifier actively traps moisture and has crystals that turn colors–from orange to green when the device needs to be recharged (by plugging into a standard 110 Volt outlet until the crystals change color back to orange again). The hygrometer and dehumidifier are the two most-critical accessories in the SnapSafe accessory pack for safe and trouble-free long term firearm storage, the rest of the suite also includes items of convenience.
