Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22

Smith & Wesson is now offering the popular M&P15-22 .22-caliber rimfire carbine as part of a new bundle package that includes a Magpul MBUS polymer folding rear sight unit and B5 Systems furniture.

While the M&P15-22 is not new in the Smith & Wesson catalog, it’s still a popular choice for people looking for a .22LR rifle which mimics the extremely popular AR-15. The M&P15-22 is a rimfire semi-automatic carbine chambered in .22LR designed from the ground-up to mimic the look and operation of a 5.56 NATO AR-15 carbine. As a result, the majority of the parts, except those pertaining to its .22LR action, are interchangeable with standard pattern AR-15s. This means that Smith & Wesson M&P15-22s are dimensionally identical and have the ability to accept standard AR-15 pattern furniture and accessories. This is a tremendous benefit from a training perspective as the shooter isn’t giving up much when it comes to handling and maneuvering with the Smith & Wesson M&P15-22, yet they ae able take advantage of the lower recoil and lower ammunition costs of a rimfire rifle. In addition to this, because the M&P15-22 was designed to shoot .22 LR cartridges, the end user does not have to worry about specialized bolt carriers or rimfire firing adapters to shoot this carbine

The new Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 SMU bundle includes the B5 Systems Bravo Stock which is a modern telescoping stock favored by many AR-15 manufacturers or home-builders for their carbines. In addition to the B5 Systems Bravo Stock, this M&P15-22 bundle also includes the B5 Systems P Grip 23, which has a modern profile with a more neutral grip angle compared to the traditional AR-15/M-16/M-4  A1 or A2 pattern pistol grips. In addition, the B5 Systems P Grip 23 omits the single finger groove found on those previously mentioned standard AR grips.
