First Look: Samson Mfg. Ruger PC Scout Rail

Since its introduction in 2018, the Ruger PC Carbine has become a major player in the field of pistol-caliber carbines. The carbine won the Shooting Illustrated 2019 Golden Bullseye for Rifle of the Year, and the gun has gained acceptance as a competition gun, self-defense gun and as a fun little plinker for a day on the range.

One of the nagging little drawbacks of the PC carbine, though, is that there is only one short section of Picatinny-compatible rail on top of the stock of the gun, which limits your ability to attach a scope to your gun to just one small area on your PC Carbine.

The 15-inch PC Scout Rail from Samson Manufacturing replaces the front and rear sights on your PC Carbine and allows you to attach iron sights, scopes, red dot sights or night-vision devices on your gun. The PC Scout Rail mounts using the existing sight screws for quick installation. Due to the unique takedown feature of the PC Carbine, the Scout Rail mounts to the barrel assembly in order to maintain zero and offer a level of increased repeatability that receiver-mounted options just can’t match.
