Retay USA is launching the new Retay RXP 22, a hammer-fired, .22LR, polymer-frame, semi-automatic pistol with an optics-ready slide. Retay created the RXP 22 as a rimfire alternative to a modern, double-stack, compact, optics-friendly 9mm pistol. With a 4-inch barrel, the RXP 22 is close to standard compact-pistol dimensions and is similar to other polymer-frame .22LR semi-automatic training pistols like the Taurus TX-22 Compact or the Glock G44. This modern pistol is priced to be affordable to own while also including touches such as an optics-ready slide compatible with both Trijicon RMR or Shield Sights RMSc optics footprints. The RXP 22 is built on an internal 7075 series aluminum frame that integrates with an outer polymer shell that includes a Picatinny based railed dustcover which allows end-users to mount lights or lasers to the pistol. To help retain some realism during lower-cost rimfire training sessions, Retay Arms designed the RXP 22’s magazine with added weight to simulate reloading a centerfire pistol.
