AutoLive Battery Cap

Primary Arms Optics has just unveiled a new riflescope accessory that is meant to better meter and protect coin-style batteries used to power illumination arrays found on modern scopes. The Primary Arms Optics AutoLive Battery Cap fits directly over the battery compartment on riflescopes from Primary Arms Optics and with scopes from many other brands as well.

This accessory is designed to extend battery life by using motion-sensing technology to give an optic an external, motion-sensing add-on. Unlike reflex sights and prismatic optics, the illumination arrays on riflescopes can quickly drain the coin-sized battery inside if they are left on the “always on” setting.

“One of the most popular features on our optics is our AutoLive technology,” says Stephen Morgan, Director of Product Marketing at Primary Arms Optics. “Now you can add AutoLive to some of the most popular scopes on the market, giving you the ability to leave your scope in an ‘always on’ condition, making sure you are always ready to go.”

Primary Arms Optics AutoLive technology reduces power from the battery after 180 seconds (3 minutes) of inactivity. However, any slight movement will trigger the AutoLive to draw full power to the illumination array so by the time the shooter brings the optic to their sight line, it is as if they never turned it off in the first place, similar to an always-on red dot sight. The AutoLive feature is interesting especially when it comes to duty-grade LPVOs which are becoming more and more popular optics these days and serve to bridge the gap between the traditional red dot and the traditional riflescope.

The new Primary Arms Optics Auto Live Battery Cap cover has a starting retail price of $50. To learn more about it or other products offered by Primary Arms Optics, please visit the company's website at primaryarms.com.
