If you need a new folding knife that can provide double duty in the field and in an EDC capacity, Outdoor Edge announced a new blade that might be worth your consideration. Called the FieldLite, the knife uses a 3.3-inch drop point blade. Made of 8Cr13MoV stainless steel, the plain-edged blade has a Rockwell Hardness measurement of 62. The 8Cr13MoV stainless steel is a good balance of hardness, corrosion resistance and wear resistance while still having the ability to hold a sharp edge.

A thumb stud is located on the knife for one-handed opening. Outdoor Edge built the knife with a standard lock-back design that is durable enough for hard use. The handle is made of glass-filled nylon for a balance of durability and lightweight. It has a rubberized grip to ensure a good handhold in all kinds of weather conditions. A rubberized coating can also help the user hold onto a knife when used to cut tough surfaces.

The knife is suitable for field dressing game that is harvested on a hunt as well as handling more routine jobs around the house and on the job site. The knife comes with a stainless-steel pocket clip. The FieldLite weighs 2.6 ounces and it has an overall length of 7.5 inches.

Outdoor Edge is a knife company based in Denver and is owned by Revo Brands. Revo Brands also owns Real Avid – a company known to many shooters for its gun cleaning and smithing tools.

Outdoor Edge lists the FieldLite knife at $29.95, and it is available at sporting goods stores and through typical online retail outlets. Outdoor Edge backs its knives with a Lifetime Warranty. Additionally, the company offers its customers a full refund in the first 60 days of ownership if they do not like the knife.
