Blazer Brass is part of the CCI ammunition lineup and has recently released an all-new line of hollowpoint ammunition. These new handgun loads are sold in 50-round boxes and feature reloadable brass cases, clean CCI primers and an accurate hollowpoint bullet that offers reliable expansion. This product line is currently being delivered to retailers nationwide, and is available in 9mm, .40 S&W, 10mm and 45 ACP. The 9mm round as a muzzle velocity of 1,145 fps, .40 S&W round has a velocity of 1,015 fps, while the 10mm round has a muzzle velocity of 1,175 fps and the .45 ACP round clocks in at 850 fps.

“Our Blazer Brass Full Metal Jacket handgun ammunition has been popular with shooters for decades,” said Blazer’s handgun-product-line manager, Chris Laack. “Adding a jacketed-hollowpoint-bullet option to the product family makes sense, and our customers will love it. This quality multipurpose cartridge is a solid, trustworthy option with which to both train and defend.”

Hollowpoint ammunition is designed to expand upon impact, creating a larger wound channel and transferring more energy to the target. This makes it particularly effective for self-defense and hunting. Also, because hollowpoint bullets expand and slow down upon penetration, they’re less likely strike something behind the target.

MSRP for a 50-round box of 115-grain 9mm hollow point ammo is $37.99, while 50 rounds of .40 S&W are $44.99 and 50 rounds of .45 ACP are $47.99. The 50-round box of 10mm ammunition is $52.99. More information on this new ammunition as well as other products from Blazer Brass and CCI is available at cci-ammunition.com.

MIM Myths

Metal-injection molding (MIM) creates complex, durable and reliable metal parts in things we use daily. Its ability to churn out high volumes at reduced cost endeared it to the firearm industry decades ago. Despite that fact, gun companies we asked about the process were tight lipped.
