940 Pro Tactical Thunder Ranch

Mossberg has updated the design of the Mossberg 940 Pro Tactical Thunder Ranch Series of tactical shotguns with the new 940 Pro Tactical Thunder Ranch shotgun with Cerakote Patriot Brown finish on the stock, fore-end, receiver and barrel. The shotgun also has an optic-ready receiver as well as a 18.5-inch cylinder bore barrel with red fiber optic front sight and the Thunder Ranch logo on the receiver as well as a host of features.

Designed in conjunction with Thunder Ranch Director, Clint Smith and the Thunder Ranch staff, the Mossberg 940 Pro Tactical Thunder Ranch semi-automatic shotgun is based on Mossberg’s cleaner-running 940 Pro gas-operating system that allows for longer cleaning intervals and smooth, reliable operation. Internal parts (gas piston, magazine tube, hammer, and sear) feature a nickel-boron coating and special finishes for ease of maintenance and durability. Standard features of the 940 Pro Thunder Ranch include an optic-ready receiver for direct mounting of micro dot optics; drilled and tapped receiver; oversized ergonomic bolt release; knurled and extended charging handle; enlarged and beveled loading port; elongated, pinch-free elevator; bright orange anodized follower and an extended magazine tube with eight-round total capacity when using 2.75-inch shells. The synthetic stock is self-draining and has a user-adjustable length-of-pull with a range of 12.5 to 14.25 inches with the use of inserts. Further adjustability is provided for drop at comb and cast with the use of incremental stock shims and the grip area features Mossberg’s signature texturing. At the rear of the stock is swivel sling mount. Stock, fore-end, barrel, and receiver feature durable Cerakote finish for reduced wear and corrosion resistance.

940 Pro Tactical Thunder Ranch Features:

  • Integrated heat shield, two QD cups, three M-Lok mounting slots (3-, 6- and 9-o’clock positions) and Mossberg’s signature texturing.
  • Stabilizing barrel clamp with two-sided M-Lok mounting slots and swivel studs.
  • Two QD-mounting cups on stock (right and left) allow the sling mount to be positioned in 90-degree increments (3-, 6- and 9-o’clock positions).
  • Adapter plates provided for optic-ready receiver for mounting RMR, Docter, and Leupold footprints to the optic cut in the receiver.
  • Redesigned, oversize ambidextrous safety.
  • Redesigned one-piece magazine tube for ease of maintenance and improved reliability. The magazine spring is retained for ease of removing and attaching barrel.
  • Detachable sleeve protects the magazine tube and secures fore-end.
  • Vang Comp 6-Shotshell Carrier Card with Velcro mounting plate and hook-and-loop card attachment system.

MSRP for the 940 Pro Tactical Thunder Ranch is $1,190. Visit mossberg.com for more information on this gun, other firearms in the 940 Pro Tactical family or other shotguns from Mossberg.
