For years, Mesa Tactical developed products geared toward enhancing the tactical and self-defense aspects of a firearm, and one of the company's most-popular products was its sidesaddle shell carrier. However, the company's products have found popularity in competition circles, and competitors were the primary target market behind the all-new Mesa Tactical SureShell Hook & Loop Carrier.

Unlike the company's tactical shell carriers, which are permanently mounted to a shotgun's receiver through an aluminum plate, the Hook & Loop Carrier blends the company's polymer carrier yoke with a hook-and-loop-backed material that mates up with hook-and-loop fabric mounted on the shotgun's receiver through a solid Formex 94 substrate backing. This rigid material enables the shell carrier to mount to shotgun receivers or MOLLE vests with ease, as long as the attachment surface is compatible mating-loop material.

Each Mesa Tactical Hook & Loop Carrier comes with an adhesive-backed fastening surface designed to secure solidly to the left-hand side of a shotgun receiver. For competitors who want to avoid permanently adhering a looped backing material to their competition shotgun, a bracket kit that's mechanically attached to the shotgun's receiver is available and can be removed after use.

The benefits of this Hook & Loop Carrier are numerous, not just for the competition shooter but for the tactical shotgunner or hunter. With this system, different loads can be pre-loaded into different carriers, and tailored shotshell carriers can be quickly attached to a shotgun for any number of scenarios.

Mesa Tactical hook & loop mounts are available for a number of popular shotguns currently on the market, including the Mossberg 500, Mossberg 930, Remington 870, Remington Versa Max, Benelli M2 Tactical, Benelli M4 and Benelli SuperNova. The mounts sell at a suggested retail price starting at $40. The polymer shotshell carrier, sold separately, retails at a suggested price of $28.
