MDT LSS Gen3 Chassis

Modular Driven Technologies (MDT Tac) just showcased the latest iteration of its MDT LSS Gen 3 precision rifle chassis. The MDT LSS Gen rifle chassis is built around a level of modularity that the end-user can configure to suit their needs for a tactical, competition or lightweight backcountry-hunting bolt-action rifle.

The idea behind the new MDT LSS Gen 3 chassis is that it allows the end user to easily configure the barreled action to their needs without having to remove the action or receiver from the core part of the chassis. While this is an overly simple explanation, you can think of the MDT LSS Gen 3 as a “lower receiver” that also holds the barrel and receiver in place that allows you to add or replace different styles of handguards, rifle stocks, grips and other accessories that MDT designs and manufactures with the goal of tailoring the rifle and chassis to the specific mission at hand. This allows you to take the same barreled action and have it set up for a PRS match one weekend, and then swap out the stock and fore-end for a different style to then take hunting the next weekend.

MDT offers this chassis to suit the following bolt-action-rifle footprints:

  • Remington 700 short action

  • Remington 700 long action

  • Tikka T3 series short action

  • Savage short action

  • Savage long action

"The LSS GEN3 represents the next evolution in rifle chassis design," said Josh Botha, engineer at MDT. "We've taken everything shooters loved about the original LSS and pushed modularity to the next level, delivering an adaptable platform."

Retail pricing for the standard iteration of the new MDT LSS Gen 3 chassis starts at $459 and can vary depending on handguard, stock or other accessory selections.
