Military Armament Corporation is now shipping its new 9mm MAC-5 and MAC-5K pistols, which are both semi-automatic pistol versions of the classic Heckler & Koch roller-delayed-blowback 9mm MP5. First showcased during SHOT Show 2024 at the SDS/Tisas/MAC booth, these guns are now shipping available for purchase.
The MP5 is one of the most iconic post-WWII firearms designs and is known for its utility, accuracy and reliability. Even though the design has now been present for over five decades, the MP5 series and its derivatives such as the new Military Armament Corporation’s MAC-5 clones still enjoy a robust market for parts and accessories. Military Armament Corporation aims to step up and offer its customers a quality version of this classic firearm that is more more affordably priced.
Both the MAC-5 and the MAC-5K accept standard MP5-pattern accessories, including magazines, and they function and operate in the exact same way as the German produced originals. Being civilian-legal firearms, the MAC-5 and MAC-5K are semi-automatic only. Since retro styling is a big tenet of MAC as a brand, both the MAC-5 and the MAC-5K include the old-school original “skinny” style HK MP5 handguard that was included on the first generation of those firearms. All MP5 pattern firearms including the MAC-5 series are based on a roller-delayed-blowback action that was adapted from the 7.62 NATO HK G3 rifle which in turn originated from the Second World War-era MG-34.
