Lapua TRX ammo

Lapua of Finland just launched a new line of bullets called TRX (True Range Expanding). Lapua is also offering loaded rifle ammunition with these projectiles. At product launch, the TRX bullet is only offered in 6.5mm (.264) diameter and 7.62mm (.308) diameter bullets and also .308 Win, 6.5 Creedmoor and 6.5x55mm (Swedish) rounds.

Lapua TRX bullets are designed to carry out two functions. The first is to resist deviation from the wind via a high ballistic coefficient design. This helps the TRX bullet fly true for a longer amount of time. The second is to mushroom efficiently when it strikes the target in order to perform at peak efficiency. In the past, bullets could either do one of these functions really well, but not to the other. Lapua, along with other manufacturers is turning that on its face with projectiles like the Lapua TRX similar rounds.

“Hunters today need ammunition that will deliver under the toughest conditions and offer reliable and repeatable results,” stated Jarkko Aro, Director of Sales & Marketing at Lapua. “New TRX Bullets and Ammunition raise the bar for both long-range precision and terminal ballistics, making it the ideal choice for your hunt of a lifetime.”

TRX Bullets will be available this summer at authorized Lapua retailers in the following initial offerings:

  • 6.5 mm 120-grain TRX
  • .30 Caliber 150-grain TRX
  • .30 Caliber 165-grain TRX

In addition to this, these factory-loaded rifle calibers are currently available.

  • 6.5 Creedmoor 120-grain TRX
  • 6.5x55mm (Swedish) 120-grain TRX
  • .308 Win 150-grain TRX

Lapua plans to introduce more TRX projectiles and ammunition in the near future. Visit lapua.com to learn more about this new bullet and ammunition line or other products from Lapua.
