JV-Training.com, a small company founded by American USPSA National Champion and U.S. Army Veteran John Vlieger, has just began selling its new series of weighted magazine training inserts meant to enhance the quality of dry-fire practice for practical and defensive pistol owners. These inserts fit inside the actual magazine well of a handgun to provide end users with a safe and realistic way to add weight to an inserted magazine during dry-fire work. Vlieger developed this product as a result of his career as a military veteran and serious competitive shooter on the national circuit for many years. Even though Vlieger understood the importance of dry-fire training and practice that’s necessary for shooters at all skill levels, he was frustrated with the fact that empty magazines affect the weight and balance of any handgun compared to their loaded counterparts. His frustrations resulted in his development of the Dry Weight Magazine Insert.

“We wanted to create a solution that simulates real-world conditions for shooters, helping them develop muscle memory and improve their performance,” said Vlieger. “The Dry Weight Magazine Insert is designed to provide that one-to-one feel and balance, making every training session more effective. Your draw, target transitions and reloads all benefit from having true to life and realistic weight in your hands. Currently, we have four magazine dry weight insert models and more are coming before the end of 2024.”

JV-Training.com Dry Weight Magazine inserts are easy to install and do not result in any permanent modifications to magazines. Dry Weight Magazine inserts are designed to fit inside the body of an existing magazine and are held in place with the existing base pad.
