G9 Ammo

The new G9 Defense External Hollow Point (EHP) 9mm round is a defensive-handgun cartridge with a state-of-the-art, external-hollowpoint design that does not require expansion to create a wound channel. Instead, the EHP bullet uses a unique, patented shape to create cavitation with the use of fluid dynamics. The result is a uniform transfer of energy causing a massive wound channel, five to six times larger than traditional hollow points while consistently penetrating to an optimal depth.

The G9 Defense External Hollow Point features a unique, patented shape that is also designed for the penetration of common barriers such as windshields, drywall and vehicle sheetmetal without deflection or projectile deformation. Machined from solid copper, this unique bullet has no possibility of jacket separation, which often renders other defensive ammunition ineffective. It passes right through common barriers without transferring energy so there is still a consistent and dynamic effect on the intended target. The EHP bullet features proprietary geometry on the exterior of the projectile that produces barrier-blind capability and devastation once it encounters fluid-like media at its intended target.

Every aspect of G9’s EHP has been scrutinized and engineered to produce the best carry ammunition for a defensive handgun. While designed to cut through hard materials, the EHP’s shape slows the round quickly in tissue to prevent over-penetration. The shape of this bullet is engineered to immediately transfer the maximum amount of energy and fluid laterally upon impact with tissue, creating a significant entrance wound, large permanent wound cavity, and a controlled depth of penetration not seen in conventional hollow point projectiles or other defensive handguns offerings. Unlike traditional hollow point bullets, G9’s EHP does not change shape to produce a threat stopping wound, removing the variable that most commonly causes hollow points to fail. In addition to reliable performance, the lightweight EHP projectile greatly reduces carry weight and felt recoil.
