New from FN America is the FN 509 Midsize Tactical, a well-balanced pistol that’s optics-ready, multi-role capable and optimized for shootability. This new pistol joins FN’s other successful Tactical pistols like the FN 509 Tactical and Compact Tactical. The FN 509 Midsize Tactical is a right-size combination of FN’s full size tactical slide and is equipped with the versatile Low-Profile Optics-Mounting System and a midsize grip frame.

Weighing in at under 30 ounces unloaded, the FN 509 Midsize Tactical positions itself as an great option for concealed carry, home defense and duty use. It has a mid-size frame which enables users to get a full-hand purchase along with the added mass of the 4.5-inch threaded barrel assembly and an improved trigger to give easy controllability and recoil management in a pistol that is easily concealed.

The Midsize Tactical uses a 15-round standard magazine but can also use the included 24-round FN 509 magazine to provide increased capacity. The 4.5-inch threaded barrel is cold hammer-forged and suppressor-ready with 1/2x28-inch thread pitch. The 4 inch long slide comes with FN’s Low-Profile Optics-Mounting System that is compatible with more than ten different styles of miniature red dot optics. There are also three-dot Trijicon green Tritium night sights are suppressor-height to co-witness with any compatible optic.
