FN 502 rimfire pistol with red dot and suppressor

FN America recently introduced the FN 502 Tactical, which is the company's first-ever .22 LR pistol. Conveniently, the FN 502 Tactical in .22 LR is optics-ready, making it the industry's first rimfire pistol to offer the capability of a slide-mounted red dot.

The optics mounting system featured on the new .22 LR handgun is inspired by the FN Low-Profile Optics Mounting System and allows for co-witnessed sights. Meanwhile, a smooth, single-action, hammer-fired design with 15-round magazine accompanies a reportedly "best-in-class" trigger. The handgun also features balance and ambidextrous controls that harken to the 509 family of pistols. In turn, the 502 Tactical is ideal for high-round-count training.

“We set out to accomplish two primary goals with the FN 502 Tactical: to create a .22 LR pistol with the advanced features and superior accuracy of our current pistol line-up, and deliver a pistol designed for maximum fun on the range. We feel like we’ve met both of these objectives handily,” said Mark Cherpes, President and CEO for FN America, LLC. “When a customer shoots an FN 502 Tactical for the first time, we’ve seen nothing but pure excitement. FN’s new rimfire handgun has obvious, universal appeal, whether you’re a new shooter looking to master the basics or an advanced user expecting peak performance from FN. The new FN 502 Tactical performs on every level.”

Other handgun design features are consistent with FN's other tactical offerings, while the pistol sports a 4.6-inch barrel with recessed target crown and 1/2x28 threads that fit most .22 suppressors. The FN 502 Tactical will also fit in most 509 holsters. The handgun ships with a 15- and 10-round flush fit magazine, as well as adapter plates for various types of red dots.
