While an overwhelming number of aftermarket accessories and optics are available for the AR-15 and related platforms, there are still accessory avenues that haven't been explored, according to the designers at Elevated Technologies. To enhance the ability of rifle owners to mount a red-dot optic that accurately co-witnesses with iron sights or sits are just the right height to meet a shooter's eye, the company unveiled The Slide, a red-dot mount with an unprecedented level of versatility in mounting height.

The idea behind the Elevated Technologies' The Slide red-dot mount came when one of the company's founders tried, in vain, to cobble together the right optic, riser height and iron-sight combination that would all co-witness without an issue. When no good solution could be found, the frustration spurred development of The Slide, an optics mount that can be used to co-witness a red-dot optic with iron sights of any height on the market.

Additionally, the other benefit of the mounting-height range of The Slide is that users can custom-tune the distance at which their go-to red-dot optic sits off the top of their gun's optics rail. ensuring that the optic sits perfectly at eye level with a solid cheek weld. The top portion of the optics mount is designed to fit the Trijicon MRO, Aimpoint red dots and other optics models with similar footprints. Once an optic is attached, users can mount the entire unit onto any standard Picatinny optics rail. Fine-tuned height adjustments are made with an angled, sliding rail that's torqued down with an attached adjustment screw.

The suggested retail price on the Elevated Technologies The Slide red-dot mount is $149.99.
