With the announcement that Hudson Manufacturing is shipping models of its highly anticipated H9 pistol to dealers in fall 2017, DeSantis Gunhide rolled out several new holster fits molded specifically to the new gun, particularly its popular Speed Scabbard design.

The DeSantis Speed Scabbard holster was developed initially to provide plainclothes police officers and other professionals with a duty holster that allowed for a quick draw without being impeded by a thumb-break retention strap or any other retention device, ensuring that they could get a gun into action quickly, if needed.

Despite the lack of any active-retention device, the holster also needed to retain a gun securely, and DeSantis ensures that the rig secures any holstered firearm through a precisely-molded fit that provides secure friction retention for the specific gun model for which the holster is made. Retention is also encouraged through the use of a tension screw found on the underside of the trigger guard.

The DeSantis Speed Scabbard holster for the Hudson H9 pistol is particularly cut in order to ensure that users have a full firing grip on their pistol before drawing. The setup features an unlined leather interior and can be had in black or tan leather. The holster features three belt slots, all sized to fit belts measuring up to 1.75 inches in width.

The three belt slots allow users to carry in a traditional strong-side carry or support-side cross-draw carry. Select models of the holster can be had with only two belt slots for strong-side carry and can be ordered without the addition of a retention screw, should the end user prefer that setup.

In addition to the Speed Scabbard, DeSantis also offers the Thumb Break Scabbard as a holster option for the Hudson H9. Like the Speed Scabbard, the Thumb Break Scabbard features precision-molded contours and a tension screw for friction retention, as well as three belt slots for cross-draw and strong-side carry. The only addition is the use of a traditional thumb-break active-retention strap that secures the gun in the holster until it's needed.

The suggested retail price on the DeSantis Gunhide Speed Scabbard and Thumb Break Scabbard is $77.99.
