Cosaint Arms is releasing its new line of COS21 CPFS Series 2011 9mm pistols. In essence, a 2011 pistol has a 1911 style trigger, slide and barrel with a modified frame set up to take larger capacity double stack magazines. These guns have been present in competitive shooting for years due to the performance and accuracy advantages they posses. Over the last couple of years, several companies have begun to modify these to turn them from full-out “race guns” to guns that more suitable for everyday carry and duty use. Not surprisingly, this new breed of double stack 9mm 2011 has become extremely popular amongst tactical shooters, given their capacity and easy-to-shoot 1911 style trigger.

The new Cosaint Arms COS 21 CPFS full size 5-inch pistol has a unique ported slide and barrel combination along with other features that modern shooters come to expect, such as ambidextrous controls and rear sight plates that are optics-ready. The aluminum lowers are finished with Cerakote and have dust covers that are machined with a Picatinny pattern rail in order to facilitate the attachment of lights and other accessories.

Cosaint Arms COS 21 CPFS Specifications:

  • Caliber: 9mm
  • Action: 1911/2011 single action semiautomatic
  • Controls: Ambidextrous safety
  • Barrel Length: 5 inches
  • Overall Length: 8.5 inches
  • Weight: 30.6 ounces
  • Magazine Capacity: 20 rounds
  • MSRP: $2,800

“We are super excited to offer this pistol series to the industry,” says Greg Mooney, President of Cosaint Arms. “The ported slide and barrel really make a huge different in target acquisition and keeping the handgun on target at a rate of 20-30 percent more effectively during firing. This equals to better performance and really gives the shooter a strong advantage compared to the traditional barrel and slide desing.”

CP Series pistols are available with compact, medium and full-size frames as well and in calibers like .45 ACP, .40 S&W and 10 mm in addition to 9mm. For more information on these pistols or other products from Cosaint, please visit cosaintarms.com.
