Century Arms announced it would team up with Vortex Optics to produce a compete handgun-and-optic package, combining the Canik TP9SFx competition pistol with the Vortex Viper red-dot optic.

"Canik is proud to have partnered with Vortex Optics for this project," said Jason Karvois, Century Arms director of sales,."We feel that the quality, value and lifetime warranty of the Viper Red Dot are an excellent fit with the TP9SFx pistol."

Designed to be competition-ready straight from the box, the Canik TP9SFx, imported exclusively by Century Arms, features a milled slide that allows for the addition of a range of micro red-dot sights available on the market. These optics have become a popular option for pistol shooters, thanks to the ability to put rounds on target quickly and easily, allowing them to shoot faster than iron-sighted models.

An added benefit of a red-dot sight is that it provides a targeting option in one sight plane, eliminating the need to align the target, front sight and rear sight. This makes it a great option for new shooters learning the fundamentals of handgun control.

The TP9SFx comes equipped with a pair of Warren Tactical sights, but the milled slide makes it possible for owners to replace the sights with suppressor-height iron sights that co-witness with the red dot mounted on the slide. The included Viper red dot is also designed to be waterproof and can stand up to the rugged conditions that come with being exposed on the top of a rapidly moving pistol slide. Despite this construction, the Viper only adds 1.1 ounces to the overall weight of the Canik TP9SFx.

The Canik TP9SFx, chambered in 9 mm, comes equipped with a 5.2-inch barrel that sits inside of a Cerakote-finished slide that stands up to corrosion and wear. Other features of the TP9SFx include interchangeable backstraps that ensure a solid grip for any shooter, as well as an extended slide stop and magazine release. The optics-mounting plate also features a threaded hole that allows for the addition of an ambidextrous cocking handle for easy racking of the slide.

The Canik TP9SFx ships with two extended 20-round magazines, as well as a paddle holster, magazine loader and several mounting plates compatible with popular micro red-dot sights. The suggested retail price on the Canik TP9SFx competition combo with a Vortex Viper red-dot sight is $729.99.
