A growing number of prepared professionals and citizens across the country are carrying tourniquets as part of their everyday-carry kits. These tools offer an effective means of stemming blood loss on-hand in the event of severe injury to themselves or others in the vicinity. With this evolving trend comes new realizations on the impact of daily carry for these helpful medical devices, so Blue Force Gear developed its Tourniquet Now! Pouch as protection against harmful environmental factors, like UV rays.

"While working with some of the top-tier medical professionals, we found that they are dialed in on the effects of UV degradation on tourniquets," said Stephen Hilliard, director of product development. "We wanted to make a quick-access TQ pouch that offers more environmental protection than our standard TNS strap."

Each Blue Force Gear Tourniquet Now! Pouch is constructed from the company's trademarked ULTRAcomp laminate material, which offers durable, lightweight construction that can be attached to any MOLLE-compatible gear, such as packs, belts, plate carriers and more. The design of the carrier is based on carrying a standard CAT tourniquet but can be used with a number of tourniquet designs on the market, including the SOF, RATS, TK4, SWAT-T and others. The top of the pouch features an elastic keeper that secures the tourniquet into place, and the lid of the carrier is secured into place with a ball-loaded index point that allows for easy one-handed opening.

The overall size of the carrier measures 2 inches wide, 2 inches deep and 7 inches in length. When empty, the unit weighs in at 41 grams, and available color options include black, coyote brown and multicam. The pouch fits all bets measuring up to 2 inches wide, and the suggested retail price on the Blue Force Gear Tourniquet Now! Pouch starts at $29.
