Bear OPS Bold Action Automatic Knife

Bear And Son has just unveiled the new Bear OPS Bold Action Automatic XVI pocket knife. This knife is built around a Sandvik high carbon stainless steel blade that measures 4.125 inches and uses a ball bearing based locking mechanism, compared to the more common frame or liner locks seen in most folding pocket knives. The Bold Action Auto XVI’s frame is crafted from aircraft grade aluminum and is anodized in a black finish. The blades can also be had in a white or black finish. Besides the Sandvik 14C28N steel, the Bear OPS Bold Action Auto XVI is also available with a slightly shorter Sandvik S35VN blade. The blades on both knives have the useful and practical drop point profile which is suitable for a wide variety of ordinary cutting tasks at home or other tasks out in the field, as well as being suitable for self-defense purposes. Even though these knives are automatic opening, their blades are 3 inches or less, which comes in handy for states where laws infringe upon the carry of certain size/types of knife.

Bear OPS XVI Auto Knife Specifications:

  • Blade Length: 3 inches for 14C28N or 2.75 inches for S35VN
  • Blade Materials: Sandvik 14C28N or S35VN
  • Rockwell Hardness: 58 to 60
  • Blade Profile: Single edge, drop point
  • Locking Mechanism: Automatic rotating ball bearing
